6th Semester

For White Collar Offences: I totally agree with KSLU on including them, as said below, under white collar - 'cos they are used by the privileged few and the haves among society for extortion and the rigmarole of criminal proceedings harassment.Vohra Committee Report

Go to http://upendrabaxi.net/documents.html to free download Upendra Baxi's reference books. I think only 'crisis of legal system' pdf file is there. Liberty and Corruption is yet to be scanned and uploaded.

UNIT – V: Gender based deviance – sexual harassment; Offences against scheduled castes and scheduled tribes.

SC/ST, IPC 498A(dowry harassment law is not only for dowry - in India dowry means cruelty also) and PWDVA are major money spinners and fiction of law crimes. Apart from Police and women orgs I have heard that even advocates make a lot of money. Read Madhu Kishwars report here.  Read FAQ's on Sex Selection.

Women and Child law is I think a scoring subject. Most of it known and already studied Must be a straight forward subject. However, the reports are worth reading and cost a lot: here is the link- http://pearson.vrvbookshop.com/book/towards-equality-vina-mazumdar/9788131728253 for towards equality report. However, beware it is expensive ~ Rs.900

Books are very difficult, expensive and vast to get for this subject(women and child law).I thought it would be an easy subject but I guess I will have to eat my words and conjectures.

    1. If you get the Mitter book (2 vols) - it is enough, you do not have to buy the 'Towards Equality' book.

  2. Kindly post a blog and list how the internal procedure for moot court and internship is going on at various law colleges. In my opinion the marks are being awarded quite arbitrarily. This happened in DPC last sem.
